You use STRNFSSVR and ENDNFSSVR for the NFS. I always put the start NFS in
my start up program (usually submitting a job to start it asynchronously)
and set up the ENDSBS and PWRDWNSYS commands with preprocessors that issue
the end command. Those jobs always want to hang on no matter what for some
reason and end best with the ENDNFSSVR command.
If you're not using NFS I would not start it in the first place. Use
Navigator (the old one at V7R1) to go into Network, Servers, and TCP/IP.
You'll find a dialog in there for NFS where you can uncheck the start with
TCP box. Now it has to be started manually or in the start up job.

Subject: ENDTCPSVR hang on NFS
To get a clean backup (SAVACT) we stop all ip traffic (ENDTCPSVR,
ENDHOSTSVR, ENDTCP with appropriate delays).
Last night the ENDTCPSVR hung on the ENDNFSSVR area for over 6 hrs before
OPS discovered it.
We opened a ticket w/IBM.
My question is - NFS is not a TCP Application one can flag as Autostart *NO
(or at least, not on CFGTCP menu option 20).
Is it needed, and can we just turn it off after each startup?
We are not aware of any NFS use, but also have not yet found a display or
work of a *ALL to show existing.
This happened once before, several years ago at V6R1.
Currently at V7R1.
