If you already did that, it may just be a matter of timing.

Tried looking at Application Administration in IBM Navigator for i (7.2).
Client Applications, ODBC Support.
Basically that was a very simple "Are you going to allow this person to
use ODBC, aye or nay?". No granularity like
- exclude/read/update/etc
- only these schemas

Finally got around to upgrading one of my HMC's to 8.8.4
This is one of those read the fine print kind of upgrades. Bunch of "thou

shalt not use the GUI to upgrade" kind of warnings.
<snip>
This fix must be installed using the HMC updhmc command; not the GUI.
</snip>
must is underlined.

Many of the following links are clickable from Fix Central when you go to
download it. Read the descriptions first. You may end up not downloading

and follow a trick outlined in the document (ftp).
Me, I used ftp for the upgrade as outlined in the document. The two
additional PTFs I downloaded via fix central and put on a local ftp server

and did it that way. Lost my notes when I rebooted my PC.

Started sessions but really haven't put it through the paces.

I plan on upgrading both of my HMC's from 8.8.3 to 8.8.4
and upgrade my 8286's both 41A and 42A, from FW830.10 (68) to FW 840_056

I release that 8.8.4 is a minimum requirement to go to FW840.

Not using any RS232 ports on my AIX lpars.

Any issues with that?
