JAR is a java file format, and a tool to create that file format. You
will need one of the java versions installed to use it. As for
documentation, the Oracle docs are probably the best.

Subject: QSHELL JAR Documentation

I just found a nice article in the Midrange Archives about how to zip
an
IFS file using the STRQSH command with JAR. I'm trying to find
documentation for the JAR function to better understand how this
works and
what IBM i OS features need to be installed in order to support it.

Does anyone have any documentation on how this works?

I'm not finding much at the IBM Knowledge Center.
