Hmm. I've never used any of the tools you describe, but I have several built-in data stream dump tools built into our emulator, and I've told the customer where to find them (they're in a hidden menu), and asked for a buffer dump (and a trace, if they figure out a way to make it happen predictably). But that's only going to tell me more about what IS happening, not what SHOULD BE happening.

Seems to me that the ideal situation would be to have some way of getting a data stream dump with the application in question talking to a real terminal.

What really bugs me is that (1) according to the 5494 manual, the "WSF: Query Station State" is malformed, (2) it's being sent even though our emulator's response to "WSF: Query" explicitly says that neither it nor "WSSF: WSC Customization" are supported, and (3) while I can find a DSM API for sending "WSF: Query," I can't find ANYTHING short of a UDDS that will send a "WSF: Query Station State" or a "WSSF: WSC Customization."
