Agreed, but the previous comment just wanted to know how to do it.

And, if you're like our vendor software they do not touch the tables
themselves with RLA. They only touch the LF's. And their LFs select
individual columns and use a LF specific record format name so it's not a
big hairy deal.

We make take advantage of this when we add new columns to facilitate
Temporal Tables. So far testing has been excellent.
