I am presuming that the S812 can also be IPLed from that 32G drive. But,
dumb question time, I guess: >can< it be IPLED from that 32G stick? I
have seen systems (not from IBM) that did not enable USB until the OS was
loaded.

You could also use an RDX.
You can boot from the network.
You can attach a tape drive.
And yes it supports a DVD Drive.
