Really. Go to 7.3. The biggest thing there for some vendors was the lack
of JDK 6. Vendors will move from that only under duress. That was a
delay for some of my vendors. Even IBM had to come out with a fix for
Domino because of their stupid hardcoding of JDK as some stupid prereq
check when you start the http function of Domino.
While you can download JDK 7 & 8 for 7.1 from ESS, JDK 6 was the last one
shipped on media and that still seems to be a gold standard in the Luddite
community.
If you go to 7.3 then your vendors will have to use a supported JDK.
