No, it's not a root share.
And, no, near as I can determine you cannot go to \\myIBMi\qdirsrv\..\ or
some such combination to climb back up to root.
And, yes your system should have no root share. Definitely. We hunt them
down periodically and deal with the creator.
However that doesn't mean you should be quite content to let a ransomware
attack encrypt everything in your /QIBM/ProdData/OS400/DirSrv folder.
If you do not have a reason for this to be an 'update' share then don't.
I suspect it is defined as an update share to ease modifying the .conf
file in there to personalize ldap.
