Here's another obscure thought clouding the back of my memory...

Isn't there some obscure ditty about the CCSID on the file being one thing
but the CCSID of the data within it being another?


Like, if you change the CCSID back to the original value on the file.
Create an empty new file with the desired CCSID.
And then copy the data to the new file.
Does that convert it to the proper CCSID?
