My biggest issue with QNTC going to Windows servers was that someone would
create a share on the Windows server which exceeded a set number of
characters (I think anything over 11 is an issue). Even if I was not
using that share but I was using another share simply the existence of
that share was an issue.
Found it, it's 12 characters.

Ensure that all Windows based shares are 12 characters or less in length.
This is a permanent restriction as it causes the Windows server to return
a 3406 error code from the SMB transaction.

This is dated information and I've asked for it to be updated.
Since IBM's website is currently undergoing a massive failure I can't
search cover letters or anything.
