It's not that simple Alan.

First off you are assuming the driver has a device that was provided by the company to use.
Next you are assuming that message they send is formatted in such a way that it's usable Then you are also assuming the individual is English literate, a bad assumption in today's workplace.

I have several customers in the same situation as Paul's. It's not an easy problem to solve. even if you give them a device (which get lost, bashed up, and abused in all manor of ways) and barcodes to scan for each character, it's still a crap shoot if the general population will be able to use it.
