Yea, that becomes and interesting conversation. One I'm having with them
right now.

Oh, yeah, I always forget about that. Of course, when you simply flip the
fiber cable from your P8 to your P9 and take all the disk drives to your
P9 it is nigh unto impossible to apply the reduction keys. Tends to vex
IBM.

If you moved the software from the old box to the new box, your partner
will
have to request "reduction keys" from IBM. You apply those keys to the
donor system and take screen shots of the screens having done it, save
those
to a document. You'll need to give that to your partner.

Your partner will then request the new permanent keys for the P9.
Meanwhile
the donor machine is essentially a vegetable.

In short get to it so the 70 day trial does not get you. Technically
you
should have configured the "migration" feature code, (and pay for it) then
you would have the ability to keep both systems functional during the
cutover. Both systems would also be under maintenance
(software/hardware)
at that point too.

When receiving a new P9, how long should it take before seeing the new IBM
I
software keys on the IBM support site for the new serial number make and
model.

5062: No keys found for the selected operating system.

Thank You
