Another option is to CRTDUPOBJ on the command and use CHGCMDDFT to change the command defaults to get by having to provide less parameters.
Only caution is to do a DSPCMD on it first and make sure you're not changing the defaults on a "proxy" command.

I have a command on a menu and I added a parm.  Now it won't fit.  Most of the parms are preceded by ?- because I don't want the user to be able to change them, the new parm included.

Is my only option to encapsulate it into another command?
