Sounds like code will be needed possibly or an RPA automation tool perhaps.....
If you had a tool like out Automate software it's easy to rip the text from both PDF files and then cycle through and do a line comparison and skip any date lines.
All depends on what you're looking for from the PDF.
I'm happy to mock it up as a POC with our Automate software if you send me a couple PDF files assuming they are searchable and some use case instructions on what you're trying to accomplish.

The creation of the 2nd PDF would be at different date and time.
An existing compare PDF command from a 3rd party document management vendor has been tried and "failed" because of those items.

You could simply perform a binary comparison between the 2 files unless other elements such as date will change.

subject: Compare two PDFs
I have an ongoing need to compare two PDF stream files and detect if there are "text" differences between the two.
Both PDFs were/will be created via a conversion from their respective spoolfiles, with the data in the spoolfiles being different between the two conversions.
The spoolfiles are no longer available to compare.
I am looking for a command, service program, or process that is available to be embedded in our production programs(CL,RPGLE).
Does anyone have any suggestions?
We are at V7R3.
TIA
Michael Smith
