If I considered the vendor trustworthy, and had a legitimate reason, I
would do so under the conditions that (1) any vendor rep given access
would be required to use it on the premises, (2) any vendor rep given
access would be required to check all communications gear at the door,
and use SST under constant supervision, and (3) the SST profile would be
disabled immediately, and the password changed, before the vendor rep is
permitted to claim that communications gear, leave the premises, or go
anywhere without an escort.
If I did not consider the vendor trustworthy, the mere act of requesting
SST access would be considered grounds to permanently blacklist the vendor.
