Rob,

It is a warranty & maintenance issue indeed.

IBM's maintenance & warranty here (Israel) is priced so that a 3 year deal
costs close to a package of a new machine plus 3 year warranty &
maintenance.

last time around I waited an extra (4th) year waiting for Power 9 and the
yearly maintenance was not cheap (-:

A cheaper 3rd party maintenance is available but I prefer IBM's which is
superb!

Gad

P.S.
Do you use IBM's maintenance? How would you rate it?

I'm curious as to what you're outgrowing on your current P9. Memory, disk,
processor? Or are you just getting a new box so you can relegate this one
to be your H/A machine? Or do you update every x years to keep them on
warranty maintenance?
