When we first got some SSD's it was only 4 SSD's out of a large number of spinning disks. To this day we've never used iASP. But, at that time, we hadn't used ASPs yet either. We had this prejudice out of fear of how to handle ASP overflow and a host of other concerns. So the options on CHGPF to put a particular table on SSD was quite appealing.
SSD's were purchased with one concern only: "How do we reduce the outage caused by running month end?" That was the sole reason we got the check cut.
Turned out SSD's didn't do crap for that concern and installing HA Journal performance did.
