Once I used telnet I never used STRPASTHR again other than to check if the SNA connection was down again. Oh, I'm sure that someone will chime in that STRPASTHR has parameters you can use to do some special function but I'd be willing to bet that they still use STRPASTHR because that's what they used in the pre TCP/IP days for a bulk of their usage and rarely use any of the parameters they mention in their day-to-day use.

I will say that the SAVRST* have some legitimate use and I really wish they'd rewrite those for TCP/IP. I just didn't want to put SNA back in once I gutted it out.
