The point is: What are you trying to achieve?

You need some kind of cloud backup, cloud migration mechanism, or disk backup?

Do you have a VIOS?

How much free disk space do you have?

Last time we had to deal with this stuff was about moving a 7.1 LPAR to IBM Cloud which does not yet support lower than 7.2 release. So, this was a RISC-to-RISC migration to an LPAR for which we do not have access to the HMC, no access to the VIOS, no access to the storage device, and no physical tapes drives. The target LPAR is created in 7.2, fully operational as you can expect, and you have to "transform" it with only LIC and base OS loaded so that a RISC-to-RISC migration is possible.

Fortunately we had time to proceed to the various steps and the LPAR was not so big.

At least, this was something very informative.
