I strongly encourage you to keep on hammering at setting up Lan Console. It is something that you will see in the future and will be valuable knowledge when you replace that Power 6.
However, if you insist I believe you can hook up twinax to that.

You will see that a 4746 will be needed.
Critical: IBM i 7.2 does support Power 6 but the number of cards supported by 7.2 dropped drastically! The 4746 is mentioned as taking a dive.
