I cannot emphasize enough: It is worth a try.

Almost anything is worth a try. And if you want to *know* whether
something is faster or not, the *only* way to truly acquire that
knowledge is to try it.

Even *with* all the details and seeing the VE, there is no substitute
for actually trying it and timing it.
