Replying to an email automatically makes a subject. ;)
Email filters (by subject, content, address, etc) are super easy to
create. For instance, for Midrange emails I have them go to their own
folders. No alerts from them. Only for my main gmail.com emails and
bvstools.com emails. Takes a few minutes to set up, and saves a lot of
time.
But I get we're all different. Whenever I visit a website and they have an
email address, if they don't reply in 24 hours I email them back telling
them that if you're not monitoring your email to remove it from the site as
a point of contact.
Then again, as I mentioned before, most of my support is done via email.
Trying to see a job log over the phone vs emailed to you (which seems to be
a stumbling block for a lot of shops.. knowing how to do that or get logs
from the IFS as well) is much easier to provide assistance. That is, of
course, after getting the initial email of "it isn't working. What's
wrong?" with no context, data, etc. :)

Maybe people just think texts are "cooler" than email. :)
Maybe that. Or that for text, one doesn't have to come up with a subject
before writing the actual message?
