Either you are nominated, or nominate yourself. IBM evaluates it and then picks worthy folks. It's a yearly nomination except for a very few that have been deemed "Champions for Life", IE Pete Massiello.

I'm sure Brad, that you would be picked, given your stature and assistance to others.
