We changed from 2 dedicated DNS servers to doing it via the Sonicwall
firewall (high availability pair). So our DNS servers for the IBM i went
from
192.168.0.225
192.168.0.226
8.8.8.8
to
192168.0.250
8.8.8.8
Now the question. In the CHGTCPDMN command is this parm:
INLDMNSVR(*ROTATE)
which means it rotates among DNS servers for balancing. Before there were
2 *internal* addresses, now there's just 1. Do I want to change this parm
to *FIRST to always use the internal server first? If so, does it take
effect immediately? Or do I have to do something more?
Thanks.
