Why do you still have Google's public DNS server in there?Because ServIT wants it there. The IBM i is in NatNet, not here.
Probably don't need the internal ones unless you have in house DNSrequirements for local host names.
Why do you still have Google's public DNS server in there? That's what
8.8.8.8 is. You can also add 8.8.4.4. Probably don't need the internal
ones unless you have in house DNS requirements for local host names.
I use these Google DNS servers exclusively.
To answer your question, I don't think it will make much difference.

We changed from 2 dedicated DNS servers to doing it via the Sonicwallwere
firewall (high availability pair). So our DNS servers for the IBM i went
from
192.168.0.225
192.168.0.226
8.8.8.8
to
192168.0.250
8.8.8.8
Now the question. In the CHGTCPDMN command is this parm:
INLDMNSVR(*ROTATE)
which means it rotates among DNS servers for balancing. Before there
2 *internal* addresses, now there's just 1. Do I want to change thisparm
to *FIRST to always use the internal server first? If so, does it takelist
effect immediately? Or do I have to do something more?
Thanks.
