Council worth considering - FYI. We'd be using EIM/SSO if I had authority for that - it is on my development/performance review stuff to encourage setting this up.

Hi, Vern,

Never store any sign-on information, especially passwords, in any PC files such as "macros" as this could potentially lead to a breach of security, if someone is able to read data on your PC, e.g. those macro definitions.

Why not use Kerberos and "single-sign-on" and EIM, as it is built into the IBM i OS, and available at no extra charge?

You can set it up and enable it for just yourself, or a few selected users, or you can gradually roll it out to more and more users.

Just a thought ... :-)

You raise a point I'd not originally thought of, but I have recently wondered about that. Unfortunately, this is a signon, automacro, so am a bit nervous about testing this. I think I can see what happens with another one that isn't going to disable my password if I'm wrong!

Thanks, I'll try something!
