I tried this today.

ADDRDBDIRE RDB(REALSYSNAME ALIASSYSNAME) RMTLOCNAME('127.0.0.1' *IP)

then in ACS runsql scripts

<sql>
select * from table(qsys2.get_job_info('*') );
values current_user, current_server;
-- should see original logged in user
stop;
-- now lets connect to the current_server with "elevated" access
connect to ALIASSYSNAME user ELEVATEDUSER using 'ELEV_PWD' ;
stop;
select * from table(qsys2.get_job_info('*') );
values current_user, current_server;
-- should see *new logged in user
stop;
connect reset; -- back to original user
values current_user, current_server;
</sql>

should now be able to sql tables with this elevated access

I agree if the connection is not linked to a specific user. But in that way
any time you start an action (Emulation, File transfer, Sql scripts, Ifs)
you'll be prompted for user and password. For daily use it's not practical.

My doubt was whether there was a way to create a new connection to the same
system without using hosts or DNS.

TIA
