Michael,
Assuming you have not found a solution yet? It's been years but have worked
long ago w Kyocera printers... I've been all over the Kyocera site to get
real specs for a "Kyocera MA 3005" - There are other models of MA, and
other numbers but cannot match that description. There is reference in
some models with a close description of an emulation mode and about 8
options, Closest is HP Laserjet since you are using a HP driver - and i
would second a prev suggestion to use HPCOLORLJ instead of HP4 type model.
All the type models for color printers in
https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/information-printers-kyocera-document-solutions-kyocera-mita-and-copystar
are drivers for color models.

And finally - can we see the CRTPRTF command you used (or a dspfd of it)
and any OVRPRTF ?

I lean towards what Vern mentioned. The printer is working. It might be
something
having to do with the MFRTYPMOD parm.

I googled a couple of different phrases. A lot of them came back with
perhaps an internal printer setting or Kyocera software ???
I found this.

It might lead to an answer.

Via my IBM i Reference Pages Blog (on my signature) and went to the "Sites

Then opened this ... https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/644669
Then opened the Kyocera printer page and could not locate that model.

Hi Gio

If a printer is not in that list, it still might be something you can use
- already you have with a black&white overlay you are printing there. You
are using an older MFRTYPMDL, *HP4 = maybe try *HPCOLORJ.

But you are saying Host Print Transform *YES - there are limits to what
HPT can do, as documented here -
https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/capabilities-and-limitations-host-print-transform-hpt

This does say that HPT will print certain color components - graphic
images, I believe, you can read it to be sure.

Also, you gave us only the CPF3397 message - that only says that the
writer ended - the message 2nd level text says to look at the job log of
the writer to see why it ended - these final messages themselves are of no
help without the history of what happened before that.

Can you look at the writer job log and give us the messages that it has
before CPF3397?

Regards
Vern
