If you select "Enable fastpath" on the HMC Option screen, this will skip the select system and partitions screen and take you to the shared or dedicated connection screen.

I'm not aware of any possibility. Maybe a nod to "Fortress Rochester". ;-)

Even if you use a 3rd party 5250 emulator, and connect to port 2300 of the HMC, it's
- Select language
- Provide management console credentials
- Pick a machine
- Pick a LPAR
- Provide local credentials to sign on

For 7.3. For 7.2, after picking the LPAR, there are further screens:
- Provide DST credentials
- Show Console Information Status screen, press F10 for Takeover console connection
- Confirm Takeover Console Connection From Another User
- Provide local credentials to sign on

Maybe there might be some DST settings I'm not aware of to skip the additional screens for 7.2.

All in all, it's just a nuisance, because I don't need console access that often.

But yes, for me, walking to the 5250 twinax terminal next room to access my 150 is certainly quicker. ;-)
