Just as an FYI, your .Net or network team doesn't have to spin up anything for you to develop a .Net web service.

Curiosity and google will get you there without bothering them until it's time to deploy to prod.

Not sure what you’re alluding to with Vive la difference - (an expression of approval of difference, especially that between the sexes.) 😊

Not to fan the flame of Microsoft haters, but you could probably write a .Net web service to accomplish this in a few hours and could consume it from anything on IBMi.
I would love it if I could get our .NET team to deploy code in a few hours. I'm not the boss of them.

I would love it if I could get our network team to coordinate with the .NET team and spin up a server and make the networking / firewall / VLAN work in a few hours. I'm not the boss of them either.

I am the boss of PASE. Which is why I'm looking for the full GNU gcc tool chain in PASE. I can call a PASE program from RPG and get the answer back. No network latency / authentication / snooping issues to deal with. All the debugging happens in one seat - mine. This is why I generally prefer a single platform architecture when I have a choice.
Different organisations have different situations, and will come to a different conclusion. Vive la diff?rence!
