Just installing Outlook doesn't create a PST file. It get's created when
the program is launched for the first time, and then only for the
specific user profile which is currently running.

Your old PST file should still be there, unless you've done more than
you've told us so far. Nothing you do in the registry would have removed
the file. But you need to make sure that you find the correct folder.
Start at "C:\Documents and Settings", and ensure that this folder and
it's subfolders are setup do display protected operating system files
(Tools|Folder Options|View). Then do a search from that folder as the
root for all *.pst files.
