I did reinstall the previous components as I needed the system operational.  
I'm contemplating the reinstall option.  I've had the operating system (win2k 
pro) installed for a few years now so maybe it would be a good idea to 
re-install and clean things up.  I have a lot of software to re-install though. 
 CD's are available, just a lot of time.

Postings on the Microsoft web site point me to registry entries that identify 
what drivers to load.  Changing those entries should correct the problem 
according to Microsoft.  Two things, I'm not real keen on manually changing the 
registry and secondly, I don't know what drivers to load.  I guess I could find 
them on the mobo site.
