Too many hardware changes will result in Windows asking (requiring) you to
re-register, not a STOP Kernel Panic Error.

Rick, are there device drivers for the drive controller on the motherboard?
You may have to do a repair of the install and press F6 to install drivers.

Also, is the MB BIOS set to LBA or is it trying to map the drive. If the
drive geometry is all messed up due to incorrect translation this can lead
to the same error.

It has worked for me with win98, but i would still need to reinstall windows
afterwards because it ran like crap. I am assuming this is a 2K/XP OS? If
it is XP, I would assume ti is freakign out because too many hardware
changes and it thinks you are running illegal software.
