I can't prove this, but I think that email web clients do not include the original text - comcast.net sometimes has an html as an attachment, but it rarely comes through with the original message.

I despise comcast, BTW, but have little choice for now.

I see them that way, too. Our corporate email server is Exchange and I read it with Outlook 2000 sp3.
