That thought crossed my mind too although if you're like me with a wife and kids the $400 would be better spent on home improvement projects, especially if you've already got a PC (albeit old) sitting in the basement that could do what you want it to do if you just put some time and effort into it. Just for the record, I do have two brand new XP-Pro PC's that get daily use, a handful of Windows 98 PC's for the wife and kids, but I do still have a Windows 95 PC that works fine whenever I get the urge to play with MIDI. (And just how well does XP support two sound cards? You can do it just fine in Windows 95 and 98. <g>) Dave Parnin Nishikawa Standard Company Topeka, IN 46571 daparnin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Bob Crothers <bob2@cstoneindy. Why screw with an ancient machine and a very bad OS (win98). At best if you get it up and running you've still got a barely runnable system. Spend the money and end up with something decent for your troubles. The worst case scenario is that you have to reload windows. -- This is the PC Technical Discussion for iSeries Users (PcTech) mailing list To post a message email: PcTech@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/pctech or email: PcTech-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/pctech.
