It seems to me that, in the world of software firewalls, uninstalling any 
and all existing firewall software is just about mandatory before installing 
new or upgraded firewall software. 

Per your previous advice on uninstalling Symantec, what about the Microsoft 
firewall I'm now using? Can that be "uninstalled"? Or am I only able to 
"turn it off"? From WinXP Help: "If you choose to install and run another 
firewall, turn off Windows Firewall."

BTW, I found Symantec's support page on uninstalling the product.
