I was going to guess a hardware device conflict. Any changes made to the system prior to that happening? I would definitely rule out faulty keyboard by trying a different one. You may even want to try a different connection. For example, if it's a USB keyboard connection, use a PS/2 (or an adapter) if you have one. How many beeps POST complete normally? (One or two beeps) Does it do it repeatedly? Doesn't it automatically choose one of the options if you don't select anytime?
