Price and features, IMHO.

I really like the multi-ring feature ... my friends & family can call a
single number and know that I will receive the call if I'm home or away.

The virtual phone number feature is nice if you have people you talk to
on a regular basis and you want to save them some money on long distance.

The fact that the number can be taken with you and used anywhere in the
world you can get a good broadband connection. I know a guy who got
relocated to the UK for an extended contract, but didn't want to have to
pay huge amounts of money for international phone service when he called
home ... so he got Vonage ... folks can call him, and he can call them,
without paying a lot of money.
