My four kids (youngest just turned 4) picked up on QWERTY right away, pretty much around the age your kid is. The 4 year old is even figuring out the Dvorak keyboard my wife uses (she's a medical transcriptionist). I would *think* a kid could adjust to a different keyboard fairly easily, but why make more work for them than is needed? I liked the other poster's idea of getting different ABC toys instead of using a keyboard for their ABCs. <vbg>
