I can't blame Microsoft for this one, maybe Belkin. We figured out the print-screen mystery. This is a new Dell laptop that I wanted hooked up to my desktop monitor an keyboard. My old Dell laptop had PS/2 ports for them but the new laptop only has USB. When I hooked it up the other day we didn't have any spare USB keyboards and I didn't really want to tie both of them up because I wouldn't have any place to plug my USB flash drive. I found a dongle we had that converted both of them into a single USB port. Everything worked fine except apparently it was "translating" that particular key combination wrong. Today I replace the keyboard with a newly-arrived USB keyboard and took the USB to PS/2 adapter off of the mouse. Now everything works but I'm out of USB ports. Another weird thing is that when you press CTRL-END, instead of going to the end of the document, it does a print-screen. Call the funny farm--I've finally gone crazy!
Wait, you forget, when it comes to Microsoft, it's not a bug, it's a feature! Brought to you by the "innovative" folks in Redmond! Honestly, though, that sounds like shortcut keys that were re-assigned somehow. FWIW, from Word 2002's Help/Answer Wizard, searching on "shortcut keys" (there's more topics that may help as well as what I posted below): Restore shortcut keys to their original settings 1. On the *Tools* menu, click *Customize*. 2. Click *Keyboard*. 3. In the *Save changes in* box, click the current document name or template <#>that contains the shortcut key <#>assignments you want to restore. 4. Click *Reset All*. *Note* *Reset All* will remove your customized shortcut key assignments and restores the original Microsoft Word shortcut key assignments in the template or document currently selected in the *Save changes in* box.
