Dan,

Hope you got out of there for a 3-day weekend and I should have been more
accurate - I was using the new update deal. So used to calling it by the old
name. I'll try the KB path.

Thanks !

Chuck

Hi Chuck,

I dealt with this a few times awhile back, and there are KB articles dealing
with it.

If you're using Windows Update, you might want to try "upgrading" to
Microsoft Update; it might "untangle" something in the process. M.U. does
everything that W.U. does, but includes Office product patches as well.

There's also a MSDN thingy that is a non-browser app that you install
locally. It goes online and fetches patch info and provides an overall
analysis of the PC's security.

Sorry I can't be more specific, but I'm trying to finish a few loose ends
before I get out of here for a 3-day weekend.

- Dan
