I'm also running SnapStream on my DVR PC and like it a lot. It definitely
has a remote browser interface. I've watched recorded shows from another
PC in the house. You can also view live TV, change the channel, etc. The
web site (www.snapstream.com) says that you can set up recordings remotely
too but I haven't tried that. My situation might now be complicated by the
fact that I've loaded Apache on that PC.

Does anybody switched to setting up what to record from TV on their PC?
Even with DVR I would like to use the PC to control it. It seems it
would be easier to see the whole pictrure this way.

I think most of the DVR software available has the ability to send
record requests via the web.

Tivo does (I've used it on occasion).

I think Snapstream does too (although I haven't played with that feature
yet). I do know Snapstream has a web interface that let's you manage
the system (it's actually more powerful than the GUI) and schedule
recordings, but to do it remotely you have to put the web interface on
the outside of your home network (port forwarding).

MythTV has a web interface that let's you setup recordings remotely ...
same thing wrt the web interface as Snapstream.
