Check out http://www.uvnc.com/pchelpware from Ultra VNC. Open source,
works if the PC under diagnostics is behind a router and has two way to
handle if the other end is behind one. Open a mapped port or setup a
repeater.

I've been using UVNC when I have control over all the involved routers
and the only problem with the latest version is that ZoneAlarm alerts
can't be answered remotely.

Hi Folks,

Does any one know of a way to legitimately take over a PC over the internet
for trouble diagnosis ? Our daughter and her husband live in LA and were
having some PC issues and it's a bit challenging to do it via the phone.

We use DameWare at work and it is great but that is a private network and I
know it's a major no-no to fire something like that up over the internet.

Thanks !
