To be honest, I'm not sure anymore.

At one time, I was of the opinion that Active X controls were one of the
easiest ways for someone to penetrate your system.

As a matter of ethics, I've switched to Firefox for 99% of my browsing
... so active X controls are no longer a part of my world.
