and here it hits the Windows64 folks since apparently the Windows32
emulation in Windows64 is different enough to give Eclipse problems.

I wonder what the real problem is. If 32 bit WOW has a different API then true 32-bit windows I'd expect it's reportable as a bug. However, other than lots of references to "compatibility problems" I didn't find anyone saying what the root problem was.

I expect that actually the problem is that the installer loads up a 64-bit JVM and then tries to use the 32-bit binaries, I can definitely see that failing. Any way to install it and then swap out the JVM to be a 32bit JVM?
