Been a while for me, but if you've got option explicit turned on (and
you should), then yes, you'll need to define it. IIRC, you just need
'dim' it. What's the type for MailMerge.State? You should be able to:

Dim varDocType as <MailMerge.State Type>
set varDocType = MailMergeDocument.MailMerge.State
If Not varDocType = wdMainAndHeader Then
SkipDocumentPrint = True
...

should do the trick.
