FWIW: The browser pop-up messages was due to an incompatibility with Firefox 3 in the Readynas web interface. I was able to use IE until I upgraded the firmware on the unit to the latest version and the problem went away.

So far it's going well ... I added another 500gb drive and setup some shares. Later this week I'm going to move some midrange data over to it.
