Once I figured out (1) that it HAD a zoom, and (2) that the little
ring around the button was the zoom control, I've thought it was
great. (It took over a year just to realize that the shutter button
had two levels of pressure -- first, semi-depressed to set auto-focus
and other picture enhancements; and second, full pressure to actually
click the shutter! (And, yes, I have tried to read the manual more
than once.)
I get the feeling that your question is directed at _photographers_
rather than PC (or AS/400) developers. Maybe those with experienced
"zoom thumbs" would feel it was an issue; but at my level of
(in)experience, I'd probably think another control located somewhere
else would be overkill.
