Folks:

Ever since I installed Win7 on my laptop, the hibernate option has worked fine.

Up until a fews ago that is.

Now hibernate doesn't do anything ... it blanks the screen briefly and then immediately give me the logon screen (like it was waking from sleep).

The sleep option works find ... and the hibernate option *IS* on the shutdown button.

I had enabled 'hybrid sleep' for a while ... but that took the hibernate option away entirely. I disabled hybrid sleep and the hibernate option came back, but now it doesn't do anything.

I have tried turning off hibernate (powercfg /hibernate off + powercfg /hibernate on), but that didn't seem to do anything. I also verified that the hibernate file is 100% of the memory size (powercfg /hibernate /size 100).

Any suggestions on how to diagnose the lack of hibernate functionality?

Thanks!

david
