That is an EXCELLENT idea John (storing the installers AND licenses
keys, etc.) that way ! ! !
Thanks,
Chuck

"I really don't want to restore all the apps though."
Understood. Been there, done that many times. Anymore if I have to
rebuild
and can't restore I install Windows, the printer & video drivers,
Office,
Acrobat Reader, Firefox, maybe AnyDVD, whatever that machine used for
burning CD/DVDs, AV, and the Home Server widget. Just about everything
else
I want until there's a need before I take the time. It can be a little
aggravating when my wife wants some random app a few months later but
it's
one way to keep down the app clutter.
I've also taken to keeping the installers for downloaded apps on the
Home
Server. I create a directory for each PC & dump the installers there.
Then
I create a text file and populate it with license keys and any other
info
needed. The installers will usually become out of date quickly but the
license file keeps me from hunting through email archives or printed
receipts to find the elusive product keys.
